Anne Elizabeth Jordan

I love to cook, eat, travel and paint. My cuisine is inspired by local markets and traditional dishes. My paintings are memories, emotions and feelings from my travels.

I currently reside in Paris, France where I work as a freelance chef. I grew up with a chef father who owned a very popular restaurant in northern Virginia called ‘Jordans’ and then taught at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. I studied French Cuisine at ESCF-Ferrandi in Paris,France and then did two internships at La Bigarrade (two Michelin stars) and l’Akrame (one Michelin star). I learned so much from those internships, especially from chef Akrame and chef Yasuski Kawasaki at l’Akrame.

Originally I attended university for Fine Arts at Western Carolina University where my studies took me overseas to France. I spent nearly six years traveling throughout countries surrounding the Mediterranean and Red Sea while working on private yachts. Upon my return to the States, I continued painting while finally finishing my studies at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2008. Many thanks to those who have purchased my paintings, more to come as I have sold all but one as of January, 2012.

And a big thank you to Agnes Butler at All Around the House in Winston-Salem, NC for selling my paintings on the walls of her great store in Reynolda Village. Please visit her store to view my current painting for sale.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions.
