MILES – 33 Rue du Cancera, 33000 Bordeaux – I found this through Le Fooding (I generally trust more than Michelin for good restaurants) and their connection to Ferrandi Culinary School (my alma mater) made it all the more enticing. We were seated right by the front door, which wasn’t horrible but I generally prefer cozy corners. The restaurant is modern, simple, and clean with seating at a bar in front of the kitchen available. We chose the lunch menu, four courses for 29 euro. There is a 24 Euro menu with three courses available as well at lunch time. Honestly, if you can get a gastronomic meal for under 30 that is well executed, with fresh / interesting seasonal produce and great service, I’m sold. Miles accomplished all of that. You do get options for main, I chose the fish and the others in my party chose meat, they work to accommodate food allergies or aversions. Nice wine choices.
